Master machine orientation, image optimisation, and artifact recognition under expert guidance. By the end of the course, participants will be confident in performing basic ultrasound examinations and integrating ultrasound findings into clinical decision-making.
Pre course learning modules followed by a 1 day intensive hands on workshop where you will be supervised in performing scans on live models. Limited places available and 1:4 hands-on training.

Hands on Workstation modules include:
- Ultrasound Fundamentals: Grasp the essential physics behind ultrasound imaging and master machine operation and probe manipulation.
- EFAST: Learn to rapidly assess for intra-abdominal bleeding in trauma patients.
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm: Learn how to confidently scan the aorta to screen for AAA.
- Acute Biliary Pathology: Learn techniques for scanning the gallbladder and diagnosing acute cholecystitis and cholelithiasis.
- Soft tissue: Learn to differentiate cellulitis from drainable abscess quickly and easily.
- Renal: Learn techniques for scanning the renal system and diagnosing Hydronephriosis.
- Procedural Guidance: Gain practical experience in ultrasound-guided cannulation, vascular access and abscess drainage.
Australian College of Nursing Practitioners : Approved for duration of the course until May 2027
Australian College of Emergency Medicine : 5.5 hours EA, 1 hour RP, 6 hours MO
College of Intensive Care Medicine: Attendees can claim points on their CPD Diaries by submitting the activity with the relevant documentation such as a certificate of attendance.
