Despite the technological advancements in medical imaging, the chest X-Ray remains the most frequently requested radiological investigation, and one of, if not the most difficult to interpret correctly.  Provides practitioners with the confidence to recognise a normal chest X-Ray, common patterns of disease and to recognise radiographic patterns of trauma and injury commonly encountered for each body area. 

A comprehensive review of the fundamental principles in chest X-Ray interpretation and reporting.

This course provides a comprehensive review of the fundamental principles in chest X-Ray interpretation and reporting.  Interactive multimedia live group sessions are undertaken with lectures. The goal of the course is to provide practitioners with the confidence to recognise a normal chest X-Ray, common patterns of disease, and specific radiographic changes in commonly encountered clinical settings.

General Practitioners, Physicians, Registrars, House officers, Interns, Radiographers, Physiotherapists, Nurse Practitioner working in emergency or urgent care practice.

Australian College for Emergency Medicine: Approved for 8.5 ACEM CPD hours;

Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine: Approved for 9 PDP hrs: 6hrs Eductional Acitivity, 3hrs performance review

Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists: Participants of the ANZCA and FPM CPD program may claim time under the Knowledge and skills ‘Short format learning’ activity for short course, workshops, problem-based learning discussions and small group discussion.  Online learning can be claimed under the Knowledge and skills ‘Learning sessions’ activity.

College of Emergency Medicine (UK): 5 CPD points (Category 1) (UK courses only)

College of Intensive Care Medicine: Pre-course learning: Category 1A: Passive Self Learning, 1 point per hour. Lectures: Category 2A: Passive Group Learning, 1 point per hour. Facilitated discussions, Workshops: Category 2B: Active or Interactive Small Group Learning Activities, 2 points per hour.

New Zealand Institute of Medical Radiation Technology: 8 CPD Credits (Groups 2.4)

Royal Australasian College of Physicians:  Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) can claim the time spent for this activity in MyCPD

Royal Australian College of General Practitioners:  Activity Id: 396746  – CPD Accredited activity; 5hrs educational activities, 3hrs reviewing performance, total 10hrs

Royal Australasian College of Surgeons: A Message for RACS members; RACS are still reviewing the approval process for 2025. In the meantime, please advise participants they are welcome to self-report their activities for the time being. (5 hours educational activity)

Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists:  A Message for RANZCR members: RANZCR is currently developing a process for external organisations to request recognition of a CPD activity. An Accreditation of Events process will replace the current CPD hour allocation letter. This process is still pending. However, you can still claim your CPD hours for this course by logging into your portfolio, lodging the course hours (8.5) and uploading your certificate post course. 

Royal College of Radiologists (UK): This course provides 6 CPD credits in accordance with the CPD Scheme of the Royal College of Radiologists
